     Keep in mind if you have already been served with a Summons and Complaint, you have a limited time to respond. If you do nothing, a judgment by default will be entered against you. Once a default judgment is entered, your wages can be garnished, your bank account levied and a lien can be filed against your property.  You also lose  negotiating leverage - so you must act promptly

     The good news is that there are a number of defense strategies available, from early settlement to calculated delay.
